9 Days Family Safari + culture

Your children on safari isn’t just a holiday, it’s the gift of wonder.

With Summa Tanzania Adventure, kids discover the world not through textbooks or screens, but beneath the shade of ancient baobabs, while following giraffe tracks with local guides or listening to elephants breathe in the stillness of the wild.

They meet local communities, sit with the Maasai, hear their stories, learn their dances, and feel their profound connection to nature. It’s never a performance—it’s an authentic exchange, a moment of real cultural connection.

Here, family time slows. You share quiet moments, bursts of laughter, and memories your children will one day pass on to their own families.

A safari with kids means showing them the wild as it truly is—raw, free, and breathtaking. It means helping them understand that we are part of nature, not separate from it.

With Summa Tanzania Adventure, it’s not just about spotting wildlife. It’s about nurturing a new generation that feels the heartbeat of Africa—and respects the people who have lived in harmony with it for centuries.

So—why wait? The best classroom has no walls!!

Serengeti is home to the enormous migratory herds of wildebeests and zebras during the dry season. Very fascinating!!
The northern Serengeti remains an untamed wilderness full of beautiful landscapes and an abundance of wildlife. However, the northern Serengeti also supports a wealth of indigenous wildlife, including lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, and the rare oribi antelopes.

In the evening you can enjoy a campfire with your family and delicious food in the restaurant

Accommodation:  Olmorijo luxury camp ( nothern Serengeti)

Day 4

We are now going to the Seronera Valley, the Seronera River Valley, located in the south-central region of the park, is one of the most popular areas in the entire reserve. Known as the Big Cat Capital of Africa, the Seronera is rich in lion, leopard and cheetah – and people often spot all three in one day of game drives. Look for leopards around the Seronera River, which is home to one of Africa’s densest populations of big cats, while lions can often be seen on the kopjes (rocky outcrops). While the year-round supply of water from the Seronera River means that the area is excellent for wildlife spotting throughout the year, April to June is the peak season for game viewing in the Seronera, as this is when the plains are full of migrating wildebeest, zebra and gazelle as they’re making their way up north. The central location of the Seronera means that it’s one of the best places to see the Great Migration in action, as the animals are moving through the area for months.

Our guide passionately tells you everything about the wildlife that lives here.

After this beautiful day you return to your lodge

Accommodation:  Tanzania bush camp ( Central Serengeti)

Day 5

The number of wildebeests and zebras increases during the dry season, while the number of elands, elephants, and waterbucks rises during the wet season. Look out for the 'Big Five' - buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and black rhinoceros. After intensive wildlife viewing, the journey continues at night towards Lake Eyasi.

Enjoy your evening at the lodge

Day 7

We drive to Lake Eyasi. The region around Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities, who continue their ancient lifestyles of hunting-gathering and livestock herding, respectively. You may be invited into their homes, learn about family structures, participate in traditional dances, join in bead-making with the women, take part in the traditional hunting and gathering of small game by the Hadzabe tribe members, make bows and arrows, and much more. 9-days safari during the calving season

Calving season typically runs from late January to early March. This period is a time of renewal and survival. Driven by instinct, the herds migrate south to feast and give birth. Within two to three weeks, more than half a million wildebeest are born, with as many as 8,000 born in a single day. The southern Serengeti, particularly the Ndutu region, offers them an abundance of sweet grass, ideal for suckling young wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles in their first weeks of life.
Calving season also attracts a large number of predators. Lions, hyenas, cheetahs, and leopards are all drawn to the area and take advantage of the abundance of vulnerable young animals. For these predators, calving season is a time of feasting and a chance to raise their own young. Thousands of young wildebeest make it easier for female lions, cheetahs, and leopards to hunt their hungry cubs and teach them how to hunt for themselves. By practicing their handling techniques on young calves, the cubs learn valuable hunting lessons crucial to their future success.
A safari during the wildebeest migration calving season is an excellent opportunity to witness the spectacular sight of wildebeest, their adora wobbly-legged newborns, and many big cats on the hunt.

Behind the stunning landscape of the Great Rift Valley escarpment to the west, Lake Manyara attracts many flamingos.

Predators like lions and hyenas are constantly on the hunt for calves, and thousands upon thousands of calves are born within a few weeks of each other – for true nature lovers, this is something they'll never forget!
In the late afternoon, you'll drive back to your lodge, where you can relax by the campfire and watch the sunset and the moon rise above the acacia trees.

Accommodation: Safari heaven seasonal tented camp

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we drive to Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge, also known as the Olduvai Gap, is a gorge in the Great Rift Valley in Tanzania. The gorge is located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Olduvai Gorge is a site that contains the earliest evidence of human ancestors. Paleoanthropologists have discovered hundreds of fossil bones and stone tools in the area, dating back millions of years, leading them to conclude that humans evolved in Africa and how we became the dominant species on Earth.
There's a museum on the edge of the gorge where visitors can learn about fossil excavation and view exhibitions of finds from the gorge and surrounding area. It's always impressive to walk through the landscape where our ancestors from millions of years ago also roamed. An artist's impression of the moment this ancestor was likely caught in a volcanic eruption (which allowed her footprints to be so beautifully preserved) transports you back in time.
Guided tours are also available in the gorge where visitors can learn about the archaeology and geology of the area, and it's possible to explore the surrounding nature and spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and hyenas. Ultimately, you're still more or less in the Serengeti.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro safari lodge

 Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we go into the Ngorongoro Crater. The drive takes you through lush highland forest, where you can spot beautiful birds among the various tree species. Once on the grassy crater floor, you might spot a wide variety of grazing herbivores, as well as the predators attracted by this abundant prey. Depending on the time of year, you might see huge flocks of pink flamingos around the shores of shallow Lake Magadi, while the surrounding swamp is inhabited by hippos. Spend a few hours spotting wildlife and stop at a picnic site along the way to enjoy your lunch.
Late in the afternoon, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Arusha where you can reflect on these wonderful days.

15-day tour with all the highlights of Tanzania & Zanzibar

This is the complete tour through Tanzania, where you will discover Lake Natron and the renowned wildlife parks of Northern Tanzania. You will go on jeep safaris in Tarangire and at two locations in the Serengeti.

After the impressive safaris, you fly to the idyllic Zanzibar. You end the trip at one of Zanzibar's beautiful beaches.

Experience for yourself with all your senses why Tanzania is Africa's best safari and beach destination!

Day 1 and 2 In the evening, you arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Upon arrival, our guide will be waiting for you. Over the next week, you will go on an adventure together! After the introductions, there will be a transfer to your accommodation in Arusha.

Day 2:we take it easy. We would love to introduce you to a coffee plantation near Arusha. Karibu Sana, we say in Tanzania!

Day 3 :Today we start early, you will be taken to Tarangire in a comfortable jeep. After 2.5 hours, you will arrive in Tarangire, one of the most beautiful wildlife parks in Tanzania; Tarangire is dominated by its baobab and palm trees scattered throughout the hilly landscape. Additionally, the large herds of elephants make Tarangire extra photogenic. Tarangire also hosts many big cats. Our guide will do his utmost to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. But the 495 different (colorful) bird species will also receive attention today!

Day 4 :Today we are heading to Lake Natron! The route becomes increasingly rugged and remote. Along the way, you will see Maasai settlements tending their livestock. In the afternoon, the imposing Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano will rise before you. At its base, you will settle at the charming Lake Natron Camp, the base for the coming days. Each year, between August and October,  flamingos migrate to the alkaline Lake Natron. This is a remarkable natural spectacle that you will admire this afternoon (if it's the right season) with the local Maasai guide

Day 5 :Time for adventure, a waterfall hike with the Maasai!
Hike with a Maasai guide to the Engare Sero waterfall. Due to the remote nature of Lake Natron, waterfalls can only be reached on foot. Along the way, you will need to cross a river several times (mostly shallow), hike through a gorge, and traverse slopes before reaching the second waterfall. Afterwards, the inviting natural pool offers the perfect spot for a well-deserved swim after the challenging hike! In the afternoon, you will return to your accommodation

Day 6: Finally, the famous Serengeti is on the agenda! The great Mara River crossing.
In half a day, you will drive to the northern park entrance of Klein's Gate. Enjoy the jeep safari to the Mara River.
Every year, two million hoofed animals cycle through the Serengeti. It is one of the most impressive natural phenomena on our planet! The hoofed animals follow the rains and usually stay at the Mara River from mid-July to mid-October. This afternoon and tomorrow, the safari focus will therefore be on witnessing a spectacular river crossing over the Mara River!

Day 7: Early in the morning, you will depart with your guide to the Mara River. During the jeep safari, you can focus on the many predators that have also moved to the Mara... or you can stop the jeep at the Mara River. Wait here until the hundreds of thousands of wildebeest start moving. Suddenly, one zebra or wildebeest takes off, and thousands of antelopes follow en masse! The crocodiles lie with their mouths open in the shallow Mara River, waiting. This is, of course, the moment you have been waiting for!

Day 8: After the sensational safaris in the northern Serengeti, we make a turn towards the central Seronera Valley. This is the part of the world-famous Serengeti. It is the vast savannas with the many predators and hoofed animals that characterize this area.
This afternoon, you will go with the guide in search of the giraffes, elephants, leopards, and the many lions that live here. Tired but satisfied, we head to our accommodation by evening. However, don’t expect to get much sleep tonight, as the sounds of the hunting wildlife are particularly audible at night!

Day9: After a fantastic jeep safari, you drive out of the Serengeti. The guide drives to the village of Mto wa Mbu, located near Lake Manyara. This village is a melting pot of cultures and traditions, with no fewer than 120 different tribes! The guide openly talks about the wildlife and the traditions of his village. After about two hours of cycling, you ride back into the village and take a seat at a home, usually run by women. They are already busy with pots and pans over an open fire. Part of the lunch is Ugali (cornmeal), the main component of every meal in Tanzania! But cooked bananas, spinach, beans, and a stew of beef or goat are also part of the tasty lunch. After this beautiful encounter in rural Tanzania, you are brought back to Arusha.

day 10 to 13: Say goodbye to your guide today. Today you will fly from Arusha to tropical Zanzibar .Our driver is waiting for you at the airport and will take you to your accommodation. Here you can enjoy a few more days of beautiful white beaches and a blue sea

Book Zanzibari activities? Of course you can! What do you think of a visit to Stone Town, spice tours, Jozani Forest, kite surfing, etc.

We provide you with all the information

                                                    8 Days Glampingsafari's

Day 1:

Whatever your arrival time at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your guide from Summa Tanzania Adventure will be ready to welcome you with a warm, friendly smile. He will take you to your hotel in Arusha, the 'safari capital' of Tanzania. During your one-hour drive to the hotel, you will get a brief impression of this large, bustling business city. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a pre-safari briefing today; if not, it will take place tomorrow morning.

Day 2:

Our two-hour journey (130 km) takes us westward from Arusha. Along the way, your eyes will be opened to all the colors and character of Tanzania: you may even see a few Maasai herders driving their herds of goats to new pastures. You should know that your guide has in-depth knowledge and effortlessly answers all your questions.

We are going to explore all the highlights of this park. Nestled against the rugged Rift Valley escarpment, characterized by the sparkling lake, Manyara is rich in vegetation and wildlife that thrive here. Enjoy the tranquility as majestic pink flamingos elegantly wade and pick a meal of algae from the shallow, alkaline waters. On land, Manyara's terrain is compact, yet it offers various environments, such as diverse forests nourished by water seeping from the nearby escarpment. Monkeys are abundant, but also watch out for lions, giraffes, warthogs, and moody Cape buffalo that all call this park 'home.'

Day 3:

With Serengeti as your destination, you will be enchanted along the way by the colors of daily life in Tanzania, the different faces of the tribe members, their herds, the hustle and bustle of transport, and the lively stalls along the road and in the markets. However, soon human habitation gives way to the plains of the Serengeti.

The highlight of the day may well be the Serengeti landscape itself. The vast expanse, as the plains roll out before you to infinity, will leave you with a sense of awe. Take a few memorable photos, but above all, don't forget to take a deep breath and enjoy nature in all its pure beauty.

Day 4:

There is an abundance of wildlife in the Serengeti. The highlight of today is unknown, as the animals do not publish their schedule (!). What we see also depends on the season, but we may encounter 'big cats' hunting for prey. Cheetahs, leopards, and lions are all possibilities.

Discover and enjoy the varied landscapes of the Central Serengeti. The Seronera River winds through the Serengeti, providing water to all animal species. You will also see the characteristic rock formations, the famous kopjes, which define the Serengeti landscape. Lions and other big cats are often found on these rocky spots, which are also home to snakes and rock hyraxes. Everything here changes with the seasons, but in May, November, and December, migrating herds join the already rich population of native animals that live here year-round. (During the rainy season, the landscape turns black with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest – an absolutely incredible sight.)

Day 5:

We can choose to visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where we receive an excellent explanation of the park's ecosystem and learn about the history of conservation in this area. You specifically learn about the work of the Frankfurt Zoological Society and Bernhard Grzimek, who had the foresight and vision to preserve the Serengeti ecosystem. Even in this centre, you are likely to encounter wildlife: populations of rock hyraxes and mongooses, as well as many small bird species. If you are not interested, we can continue our tour. There is always something to see in the Serengeti—lions in large groups, hippos, or herds of elephants, whose populations in the park have increased recently.

 Day 6:

This afternoon we drive southeast to Ngorongoro, a distance of 145 km that will take us about 3.5 hours. Today we catch our first glimpse of the spectacular, incomparable Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and the heart of the eponymous conservation area. But before that, we go on a morning safari in the beautiful Serengeti, where we marvel at the animals that live there. Another day full of adventure, another day to enjoy the wildlife.

Day 7:

The breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater is unique on Earth and home to many, many species of wildlife in Tanzania. In the morning, we descend into the vast crater itself. On one side lies the Lerai Forest, a classic montane forest landscape with almost tropical characteristics. This is an excellent elephant area, so keep your eyes peeled.

The crater is home to about 120 lions, with clearly defined territories; 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebras, 400 hyenas, and approximately 50 black rhinoceroses. Many wildebeest and other herd animals are present here, benefiting from the numerous water sources available year-round and supplemented by some migratory birds in season. Buffalo, Thomson's gazelles, and elands are also present in large numbers. Hippopotamuses can be found in ponds and marshes, and the highland birds are colorful and abundant around the water. Flamingos are often seen in Lake Magadi, which covers part of the crater floor.

Day 8:
Today we drive back to Kilimanjaro Airport.
But first we visit the enormous Tarangire. When you stand at the entrance of the park and look south, it stretches as far as the eye can see. This phenomenal park, known as the 'Elephant Playground', is home to huge herds of these mighty mammals. But Tarangire is also home to buffaloes, lions, wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, and in terms of animal density, the park can rival the Serengeti.

The park is also known for its beautiful baobab trees, rolling savanna, and acacia forests. It can be dusty there – wear a scarf over your mouth – but this is a small inconvenience for spotting so much wildlife.

After this exciting safari experience, you might want to extend your Tanzanian vacation with a visit to the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar. We would be happy to provide you with all the information about that.

Price from $3650,- PER PERSON

10-day Great Migration, Culture & Lake Natron

Enjoy the Serengeti and the legendary Ngorongoro Crater during this 10-day safari. The highlight of this adventurous safari is the off-the-beaten-track drive to Lake Natron along the Rift Valley Escarpment Wall. The soda lake Lake Natron lies beneath the active volcano 'Ol Doinyo Lengai.' Translated from Maasai, this means 'Mountain of God.' The lake, with its hyper-alkaline waters, is one of East Africa's most important breeding grounds for more than 2.5 million lesser flamingos.

Day 1:

We will pick you up from Kilimanjaro Airport and take you to your accommodation where you can rest from the long journey

 Day 2:

After breakfast, we will pick you up at your accommodation and continue off the beaten track to Lake Natron along the Rift Valley Escarpment to the north. Your drive will pass through typical Maasai land, and soon Ol Doinyo Lengai - the sacred mountain of the Maasai - will appear in the distance before you reach the small Maasai village of Ngare Sero. Here, we will be warmly welcomed and can experience the atmosphere of everyday Maasai life. Enjoy a guided bush walk to Lake Natron, whose shores shimmer pink as thousands of flamingos come to breed on the alkaline lake.

Day 3:

We start early and continue our journey further north as the vehicle slowly climbs along various winding turns. Enjoy the last view of Lake Natron before leaving the Rift Valley behind. We enter the Serengeti around midday at Klein's Gate and enjoy the first game drive in Lobo. Between October and December, large herds of wildebeest can be found. Lobo supports a great diversity of residents, including leopards, lions, buffalo, elephants, giraffes, and zebras, thanks to permanent water sources and a landscape characterized by open grasslands dotted with kopjes. In the evening, we head to the accommodation where a comfortable bed awaits.

Day 4:

Serengeti is home to the enormous migratory herds of wildebeests and zebras during the dry season. Very fascinating!!
The northern Serengeti remains an untamed wilderness full of beautiful landscapes and an abundance of wildlife. However, the northern Serengeti also supports a wealth of indigenous wildlife, including lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, and the rare oribi antelopes.

Day 5:

We are now going to the Seronera Valley, which offers wildlife all year round, including carnivores such as cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, and lions. You will also see hoofed animals, including buffalo, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topis, warthogs, and zebras. Our guide passionately tells you everything about the wildlife that lives here.

Day 6:

Enjoy another game drive in Serengeti National Park before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Maasai still live here in harmony with wildlife and nature. Your guide will be happy to tell you more about this outstanding 8,292 square kilometer destination. Head to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 7:

After breakfast, you will drive along the crater rim to Seneto Gate on the west side, which offers an impressive view! The Ngorongoro Crater provides a home for a large number of animals due to the reliable availability of water. Animals often move in and out.

Day 8:

We drive to Lake Eyasi. The region around Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities, who continue their ancient lifestyles of hunting-gathering and livestock herding, respectively. Visits to the villages give you a personal, intimate insight into the daily lives of these people. You may be invited into their homes, learn about family structures, participate in traditional dances, join in bead-making with the women, take part in the traditional hunting and gathering of small game by the Hadzabe tribe members, make bows and arrows, and much more. In the early evening, drive to Arusha for an overnight stay.

Day 9:

Immerse yourself in the outdoor life of Tanzania on this day tour to Materuni. Begin with a walk to the Materuni Waterfalls and enjoy a refreshing dip. Then head to a local farm to learn more about the coffee industry in Tanzania before finally relaxing at the Kikuletwa Hot Springs. After all that, you will be returned to Arusha.

Day 10:

We will take you back to Kilimanjaro Airport

You are going home with a suitcase full of beautiful memories
